Fred Dickey, Jr.
President and Chief Executive Officer

Fred Dickey, Jr. began his career in funeral service during high school working as a driver and attendant at Nieto Funeral Home in 1968. After graduating from J.W. Nixon High School in 1969, he attended Commonwealth College of Science where he graduated as a licensed funeral director.

In 1971, Fred went to work for Cage-Mills Funeral Directors in Corpus Christi before moving back to Laredo to work for Joe Jackson-Heights Funeral Chapel as a funeral director and embalmer in 1972. In 1975, he went to work for Jackson Funeral Home as an Assistant Manager and worked his way up to Manager of both Jackson Funeral Home in Laredo and Jackson Chapel in Zapata. In 1991, Fred purchased Nieto Funeral Home and, in 2007, purchased Buitron Funeral Home, changing the name to Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services.

Fred was a Charter board member of Laredo Crimestoppers in 1980. He served on the board of Trustees of First Assembly of God from 1983 to 1986, and 2001 to 2005. He now attends Grace Bible Church. Fred is married to his high school sweetheart, Sadie, and has three children, Fred, Christy and Sara. When not working, he enjoys playing guitar and watching Texas Longhorns football.

Sadie Dickey
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

A graduate of J.W. Nixon High School and Laredo Community College, Sadie spent 37 years working for the United States government. A large part of her government career was spent with the U.S. Customs Service, until she became part of the Department of Homeland Security in 2005. After retiring in 2008, Sadie joined Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services.

A lifelong native of Laredo, Sadie is a wife and mother of three. She attends Grace Bible Church.

Fred Dickey, III
Funeral Director

A second-generation funeral director, Fred Dickey, III was born and raised in Laredo. A 1996 graduate of United High School, Fred attended Laredo Community College and the University of Texas at San Antonio. In 2004, he graduated from San Antonio College of Mortuary Science, and began his career at Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home.

Fred serves as a worship leader for Focus Student Ministries at Laredo First Assembly of God, and enjoys spending time with his only “son,” a fox terrier named Guido.

Raul Villegas, Jr.
Funeral Director

Raul Villegas, Jr. has been employed with Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home for the past 26 years. The Laredo native is a 1982 graduate of J.W. Nixon High School and a 1986 graduate of Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service.

Raul resides in Laredo with his wife of nine years. He has one daughter, Marilyn, and three sons, Raul, David and Danny, and is the proud grandfather of three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Feliciano Gamez IV
Funeral Director

Feliciano Gamez, IV was born and raised in Laredo. He attended United South High School and Laredo Community College, and is a 2007 graduate of Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service. Since graduation, he has been employed at Nieto-Dickey Funeral Home. Feliciano also has over three years experience as a pre-need agent for Texas Service Life.

A member of Nuestra Senora Del Rosario Catholic Church and San Luis Rey Catholic Church, Feliciano lives in Laredo with his wife, Rocio G. Gamez.

Susan Kay Medina
Administrator

Prior to joining Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services, Susan worked as an assistant administrator for a local real estate agency.

Susan grew up in Laredo and is a 1978 graduate of Martin High School. She lives in Laredo with her husband of 18 years, Esteban G. Medina, who is a captain with the Laredo Fire Department. They have two sons, Mario and David.

Maria Concepcion (Conchita) Hinojosa
Assistant Administrator

Maria brings many years experience to her role at Fred Dickey Funeral and Cremation Services. She was employed for 30 Years with Jackson Funeral Home and has served as a pre-need agent for Forethought Life Insurance, Funeral Agency, Assurant Pre-Need, National Prearranged Services and Texas Service Life Insurance.

A lifelong resident of Laredo, Maria is a 1959 graduate of Martin High School. She has been married for over 44 years and is the mother of three lovely daughters, Linda (Julian) Flores, Lisa (Alex) Lopez and Jacqueline Arguindegui. She is the proud grandmother to seven beautiful granddaughters and one grandson.
